Evelyn Ward (born May 21, 1923) is a former American actress best known for her television career from the late 1940s through the mid 1960s, and for being the mother of famous actor and teen idol David Cassidy.

Ward was born in West Orange, New Jersey to Fred and Ethel Ward. She married actor Jack Cassidy on June 28, 1948; the marriage ended in divorce in 1956. Ward and Cassidy had one child together in 1950, a son they named David Bruce Cassidy. In 1962, Ward married Elliott Silverstein.[1] She also had a brief marriage to Norman Z. McLeod between Cassidy and Silverstein.[2]

Ward's work in television included appearances on CBS's Manhattan Showcase, The College Bowl, Man from U.N.C.L.E., Ben Casey, Dr. Kildare, Perry Mason, Mike Hammer, The Furthur Adventures of Ellery Queen, and Hallmark Hall of Fame. Her Stage work included New Girl in Town, and And So To Bed (with David Cassidy at the LA Theater Center).[1][3]
